The 2011-2012 La Thuile winter season has started!

This website is a place for sharing information about the Italian ski resort of La Thuile. (1440m to 2610m)

This is not a travel agency or tour operator, and we are not trying to sell anything! Simply providing information to the Malvern ski group. All are welcome to look around...

If you have any questions about La Thuile then email and we'll see if we can help. Alternatively you could use the forum (click here) to ask your question. Often a reply will be sent by return, but occasionally there may be a delay.

All are welcome here.

Fresh powder snow forecast

Powder :- 21cm of Fresh Snow is forecast for La Thuile over the next 4 days (18/12/2011). La Thuile is reporting "Dumping powder".

Check out the weather links for up to date conditions.

Members of the unofficial "Malvern Ski Group" (Worcestershire, UK) have been skiing in the sleepy little Italian resort of La Thuile (Aosta Valley, Italian Alps) for several seasons. During the many visits we've discovered a few  secrets, and taken thousands of photographs, tested the après ski and met some of the locals. www.LaThuile.co.uk  is here only for sharing information. If you have any helpful info then please let us know. We'll share it...

If you're not a member of the Malvern Ski group, then no problem. You're most welcome to take a look anyway... Feel free to browse around the site. If you've been to La Thuile before, or are planning to go there in the future, then this is a good place to look. (Especially as we are not trying to sell you anything!)

Enjoy...

La Thuile Profile

La Thuile is a small Italian village with strong historic links to mining. The economy of the village is now driven by tourism, with the winter season dedicated to the large ski area. During the summer season there is still plenty to do, including hiking and mountain biking.

The Piccolo San Bernardo Pass links La Thuile with the French village ski resort of La Rosière, to make up over 150Km of piste to explore.

Huge "intermediate" skiing areas are coupled with fine wide slopes for beginners. There are plenty of opportunities for off-piste skiing. Advanced skiers can find plenty to do too. This makes La Thuile a great resort for groups of varying ability (like our group). The village is linked to the ski area by a DMC telecabin and a fast four man chair. There are state of the art snow making facilities and best of all... hardly any waiting for lifts!

Après ski is more family based than frenzy. There are plenty of friendly restaurants and pubs, or if you want to "club" until the small hours then there is the night club / discothèque,  in the Planibel complex. See the 'Eating Out' page

Lift passes are often cheaper than France and include free local ski bus facilities to Courmayeur. The full Whole Area pass will give you unlimited access to the neighbouring French slopes at La Rosière, via the beautiful San Bernardo Pass.
